Refunds & Cancellation.

Last updated 29 July 2026

The short version

The app is free, so there is nothing to refund there. Sync is a subscription: cancel any time and keep it until the end of what you paid for. Not happy in the first 14 days after your first purchase? Full refund, no questions. And whatever happens with billing, your notes stay on your devices — they are files you own.

01Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel Sync at any time, for any reason. Use the manage-subscription link on any Paddle receipt email, or write to billing@scribelm.app and we will do it for you. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Sync until the end of the period you already paid for, and nothing renews after that.

02Refunds on a first purchase

If Sync is not for you, tell us within 14 days of your first purchase and we will refund it in full — monthly or yearly, no questions asked. The refund goes back to your original payment method, normally within 5 to 10 business days.

03Refunds on renewals

Renewal charges can be refunded if you contact us within 14 days of the charge — for example if you meant to cancel and the renewal caught you by surprise. Beyond 14 days, renewals are generally not refundable, but if something has gone wrong — a billing error, a double charge, a service problem on our side — write to us and we will put it right.

04How to ask for a refund

Two routes, either works:

Email us: billing@scribelm.app from the address you subscribed with. One line is enough; you do not need to give a reason.

Through Paddle: our payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record — the charge on your statement is theirs. Every receipt email from Paddle has a link to request help or a refund directly, under Paddle's buyer terms.

05What happens to your notes

Nothing. Your notes are plain files on your own devices, and they stay there whether you subscribe, cancel, or get a refund. When a subscription ends, syncing between devices stops and your encrypted server copy is deleted after a grace period — the notes on your devices are untouched and remain fully yours.

06Your statutory rights

Nothing on this page reduces the rights the law gives you. If you are a consumer in the UK, the EU, or anywhere with statutory withdrawal or refund rights, those rights apply in full alongside this policy, and this policy is more generous in most cases.
